Cognitive Assessment for Deaf and Hard of Hearing Children Using ISL

Pol Bond was a teacher for 15 years, working in the area of Special Education. He holds two masters degrees in Education and Educational Psychology. He is completing a doctorate in Educational and Child Psychology this year. His specialism is the cognitive assessment of Deaf and Hard of Hearing (D/HOH) children in Ireland. He currently works as an Educational Psychologist for the National Educational Psychological Service (NEPS) and is the regional coordinator for supporting D/HOH children in the North Eastern Region which covers Louth, Meath, Cavan and Monaghan. He will be presenting his research which involves the cognitive assessment of D/HOH children using ISL. The NCSE have recommended that NEPS carry out assessments through ISL and his research explores how this might be done.
